Yes, we did some static testing and some dynamic testing. Furthermore, all our structures have been evaluated by engineers: spars, struts, firewall, cabin section, engine mount, etc...
In the static testing, we put weight on a wing until we could simulate a 6G stress. To pass the test, the wing had to hold the weight for a few seconds. In our test, the weight stayed on for 15 minutes without harm. We had to shake the wing firmly and abruptly to get it to bend at the strut attachment point. So this test was passed with high marks. We did the same kind of test on the tail section.
In our dynamic testing, we did steep turns, unusual attitudes, spiral dives and stalls. We will be testing the airplane in spins soon. |
